If you can answer yes to these questions you could be the person we are looking for to fill the role of the Contract and Legal Risk Advisor in an exciting and dynamic function within Oxfam Great Britain.


The Role


Oxfam Great Britain is looking for an outstanding individual to use this position to make a difference. In this role, you will collaborate with specialist advisory teams such as legal and funding to provide support to the contract risk oversight team, country and regional teams, fundraisers, programme managers and finance teams across the organisation on high value and/or high-risk contracts.


You will help these teams to negotiate on terms and conditions. You will also use your skills, insight and experience to provide steer and advice on organizational policy and red lines.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:


  • Self-aware with the ability to make a positive impact on others;
  • Experience of, or demonstrable understanding of, advising managers on the key risks inherent within complex contracts
  • Providing quality assurance and helping managers put into practice regulatory or donor requirements, in particular through contract review and negotiation
  • Experience of and ability to review, negotiate and deal with complex contracts involving multiple contributors, including advising on contracting arrangements
  • Legal and analytical skills with experience of advising on risks at the project or organisational level or are able to demonstrate your ability to quickly develop these skills
  • Experience of supporting or leading on the development of organizational policy to mitigate risks and communicate mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to adapt and work within a multicultural, multilingual, and multidisciplinary environment
  • Ability to work effectively under your own initiative and within a team to achieve results
