About The Role

Location: North West

The Contract Delivery Manager is a critical role in ensuring the seamless commercial and operational delivery of all RS products and services associated with allotted customer contract & sites, driving a positive customer experience, value delivery, growth and profitability. Your role will be to understand the marketplace in which we operate within and the associated customer challenges and strategies around Procurement, Inventory & Maintenance activities, contributing this learning to the future development of our Contract Delivery approach.

You will be the primary customer contact for day to day operational and commercial deliverables, and as such will be primarily located within one, or proportionally, multiple customer sites, developing meaningful and collaborative relationships with a broad range of functional stakeholders. Supporting the wider sales community in the shaping of the customer strategy, the role holder will be accountable for delivering service excellence, customer value, and to continuously review and improve all processes and technologies relating to contract delivery.

You will also act as a conduit between the customer and RS components, introducing and building an extended range of Value Added Solutions (where appropriate including other RS Group trading brands), facilitating access to RS and manufacturer technical support teams, and ensuring a seamless omni-channel experience is observed by the customer.

What We’re Looking For
  • To own the operational service delivery of the contract and support the development and governance of commercial arrangements.
  • To operate as the key point of customer communication and feedback including the provision of performance-based reports, pricing and delivery/expansion of RS Value Added Solutions.
  • To identify & deliver growth opportunities within customer sites.
  • To work with the sales teams in producing and subsequently take ownership of a Contract Delivery Plan consisting of a full profit and loss (P&L) schedule and revenue forecast which drives profitable growth for RS Components.
  • Communicate and liaise with customer contacts, internal departments, and sales teams to deliver activity to meet customer key performance indicators.
  • To build and deliver against a TCO program for the customer with typical activity streams being around:
    • Procure-to-pay savings through the deployment and optimisation of RS Inventory & Procurement solutions
    • Increasing operator productivity by optimising stock availability and location
    • Working with site engineering teams to support their maintenance objectives and focus on increasing uptime
    • Driving product and brand standardisation programs
    • Supporting customer procurement teams with vendor consolidation activities
  • To attend, and where appropriate lead customer meetings, presentations, and management of operational and commercial escalations through to conclusion using corrective/preventative action principles.
  • Own and maintain an escalation log, manage, and supervise escalations process through to conclusion.
  • To be a brand ambassador at customer and national level through company, network and industry events.
  • To ensure that both customer and company processes and policies are adhered to at all times.
  • To implement service effectiveness programmes as directed that are focussed on continually improving processes to become more seamless, driving improved internal and external experiences.

  • A strong and proven leader with a track record of managing operationally focused teams in a process centric environment.
  • Experience of working in demanding customer facing sales, commercial or operational roles.
  • An effective coach and collaborator, influencing other teams to take personal ownership & responsibility.
  • Experienced and adept at managing stakeholders across a broad range of disciplines and organisational levels.
  • Experience of budget and risk management.
  • Self-motivated, flexible and organised. Demonstrates the ability to prioritise workloads multi-task and act on own initiative.
  • Ability to work with sales teams to support growth opportunities through effective customer growth strategies.
  • A proven team player, who is self-driven, with a high commitment to energising cross functional peers to deliver against complex customer requirements.
  • Experience of delivering and improving customer experience and implementing operational service capabilities to drive performance.
  • Forms positive relationships, strives for high performance and is focussed on their own personal development.
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft office, especially Excel.
  • Experience of driving continuous improvement initiatives & demonstrable results.
  • Literate and numerate with the ability to analyse and act on data insight.
