For: Contract 2nd Line EngineerDuration: 3 Month initial ContractLocation: Rochester (office based)IR35: Inside IR35 - Engagement via an FCSA Umbrella CompanyRef: VR/14780Spectrum IT are working with an established and fast-growing technology company that provides tailored business to its customers based in Rochester, Kent. Our client are looking to recruit a Contract 2nd Line Engineer to join them on an initial 3 month contract and the role has been deemed inside IR35.Role
  • Provide technical expertise to our customer base and resolve issues up to a second line level on a multitude of technologies ranging from Microsoft through to VoIP deployments.
  • Assist with project work ranging from server installation and configuration to network installation and configuration.
  • Provide onsite support to resolve issues that cannot be fixed remotely
  • Take ownership of incidents assigned to you and see them through to resolution
  • Hands on problem solving approach, solving problems within SLA
  • Act as a point of escalation, and a mentor to first line support.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience with Microsoft based operating systems ranging from windows 10 to server 2019, Apple OS and mobile devices
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure
  • Microsoft Group Policy
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Strong admin skills such as ticket notes and time entry
  • Able to prioritise under pressure and work to deadlines
  • Understanding of VoIP and SIP trunks
  • Strong understanding of Router configuration
  • Ability to work under own direction and as part of a wider team
  • PC and laptop hardware diagnosis & repair
  • Proven technical fixing ability
  • Excellent customer service focus
