Consultant Radiotherapy Radiographer (Breast) - Full-Time Post

Are you a Consultant Radiographer currently looking for a Monday-Friday role with a supportive team?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, experienced Therapy Radiographer who is looking to develop his/her career at the award winning and innovative Beacon Radiotherapy Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital.

You’ll join a team of Consultants, Radiotherapy Radiographers and Clinical Oncologists. We are looking for someone who has a passion to care for patients with breast cancers and who is willing develop this exciting role within the wider remit of the breast cancer pathway.

We will support you with any training needed. Once fully competent and working autonomously this role will be banded at 8B, if you feel you already have this level of competence, please discuss this with us. Could you be the right person to join our team of Consultant Radiographers at the Beacon Centre?

Responsibilities Include

Evidence based practice will lead you to develop your skills as an autonomous practitioner and refer into radiotherapy services, running clinics, consenting patients, prescribing and managing a patient caseload. You will work collaboratively to ensure patient targets are met and develop efficient pathways to ensure patients are getting the best care. You will participate in decision making and MDTs. You will be instrumental in the support, treatment, consent and review of breast patients and ensure excellent clinical governance for this patient cohort.

About the Centre:The Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital opened in May 2009 bringing radiotherapy facilities to the population of Somerset. We have just completed a full equipment replacement programme. The service is equipped with a Toshiba Aquilion wide-bore CT simulator, 3 Elekta Synergy linear accelerators, XStrahl superficial x-ray unit, mould room and workshop, Elekta Mosaiq Oncology Management System, AcQSim Virtual Simulation and Pinnacle Treatment Planning System.

Aside from being rated as an area of Outstanding Practice by the CQC (2016), the centre has received accolades for the high-quality care delivered, including CHKS ISO 9001 accreditation, Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM) rated 5 out of 5 on all principles, Investors in People Gold Award and Customer Service Excellence Award, July 2016 (the only NHS organisation to ever receive an A+++ rating). In the 2016 National Cancer Patient Experience Survey, the Beacon Centre was ranked second overall and in the National Cancer Patient Experience Survey 2017, the Beacon Centre was ranked 3 rd in the country, this is a genuine reflection of the exemplary person-centred care delivered.
