Consultant Psychiatrist (Old Age Liaison Psychiatry)

North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) provides NHS mental health services for almost 1 million people living in Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham and Havering.

A vacancy has arisen in the Psychiatric Liaison service in NELFT which operates a nationally recognised model of minimising bed usage through close collaboration between the Home Treatment Team’s, Acute Wards and the Crisis Hub.

The post is based at King George Hospital in Ilford, Essex. This post will attract 10 Programmed Activities per week – 7.5 PAs for direct clinical care and up to 2.5 PAs for supporting professional activity. There is a Senior on-call rota which is remunerated at 3%.

The Liaison Team is a well-established team within the Acute & Rehabilitation Directorate, working closely with the Acute Trust (BHRUT) at King George Hospital.

The post offers excellent CPD and study leave arrangements as well as good research and service development opportunities.
