An opportunity is available to join our MASH team as a Mental Health Practitioner. We are a dynamic, multi-disciplinary service, providing a range of specialist interventions within an integrated person centred approach to adults who are residents of the Borough of Havering. We work with those who have a diagnosis of a mental health condition often who have complex presentations including substances and physical health concerns.

It is important to us that the successful candidate is an experienced professional, possessing a commitment to working with adults, their carers and family. They will be committed to developing and promoting evidence-based best practice, and be confident with working within a mental health setting.

As a Mental Health Practitioner you will be a qualified professional, you will possess an understanding of how MASH , multidisciplinary teams need to function and be passionate about delivering quality services.

The post is full time, offering excellent opportunities to develop special professional interests; share expertise and work closely with colleagues. Training, good support and partnership working is offered. Close relationships also exist with multi-agency partners.

The teams operational working hours is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm although some flexibility may be needed, a car driver would be desirable but not essential for the role.

Assessment/Interview info

At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement – London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,784 to a maximum of £4,822).
