At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Construction Manager within the MEH (Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC) Joint Venture at the Hinkley Point C (HPC) mega new nuclear build project in Somerset.

The role

As a Construction Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Build Lead will lead, manage and motivate the Building Construction Team through implementation of Best Practice and provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. They’ll also ensure all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with the CDM Regulations.

Day to day, you’ll be responsible for delivering the Build projects on time, budget & quality, and reported as per the HPC requirements as well as managing the interfaces between the MEH partners and subcontractors to ensure project delivery.

Essential Experience For The Construction Manager (Build Lead)
  • You will have demonstrable experience of delivering major construction projects, including establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships.
  • You will also have experience in developing, sustaining and leading a high performing integrated construction management team by blending people with the right attitude, skills, and experience to deliver the assigned projects and or portfolios.
  • Able to inspire and lead a team, you’ll encourage and support groups and individuals to achieve critical tasks and outcomes with the ability to adopt a can-do attitude and willingness to be hands on if required, to achieve the deliverables. You’ll be able to operate at all levels to suit need and the situation with the ability to manage conflicting demands.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance level for this role.
