The Elvetham Hotel:

The Elvetham Hotel is an elegant country house hotel in Hampshire, rich in history and set in 35 acres of beautiful gardens.

The hotel is one of the most historic sites in Hampshire entwined in the British Royal Family. The site can be traced back to as early as the 800’s AD.

Today the Estate consists of 91 bedrooms shared between the Main House and The Stables, as well as four unique and flexible function rooms.

Role : Banqueting Manager

The Elvetham hotel is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and authentic person to join and lead the newly created Banqueting Department!

What will I be responsible for?

  • Determining the number of table waiters and servers required.
  • Scheduling and assigning daily operations of banquet staff.
  • Planning the venue layout according to the number of guests and the type of event.
  • Ensuring increased customer satisfaction.
  • Arranging and maintaining all banquet requirements.
  • Supervising the placement of tables, chairs, cutlery, plates, glasses, table linens, centrepieces, heating lamps, serving utensils, and carving stations.
  • Hiring, training, and supervising your team members.
  • Scheduling reservations and making note of special requests.
  • Maintaining a record of pending bills and ensuring timely payment.
  • Discussing sales contract details with the banquet sales director and the head chef.
  • Consulting with the Head Chef regarding the timing of meal courses to be served.
  • Planning and checking venue setup.
  • Managing food and beverage requests effectively.
  • Conducting banquet facilities within budget.
  • Maintaining the quality of service.
  • Maintaining strict sanitation and cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Overseeing the seating of guests, the serving of meals and beverages, and the clearing of tables.
  • Managing the availability of liquor and soft drinks, when required.
  • Determining the number of servers and placement of items.
  • Ensuring timely food service and clearing of tables.
  • Calculating food budget and labour costs.
  • Offer inputs in F&D marketing activities.
  • Proper maintenance of glassware, linen, equipment, and other cutlery.
  • Preparing work schedules and completing documentation in a timely manner.
  • Answering customers’ questions and accommodating special requests.
  • Preparing and maintaining budget sheets/records.
