Do you want to make a difference?

Are you passionate about discovering new ways to improve and change someone’s life for the better? This just might be the job for you!

Being able to access education and day care settings could not be more important to the children and adults in our area who are vulnerable or have complex needs. Our service is passionate about helping vulnerable adults access stimulating social environments and build on their personal networks. We help many young learners who are also vulnerable or have complex needs or a disability travel to school, college or their education setting, helping them to access the same opportunities and improve their life chances as others.

If you share our passion, then this role may be the perfect opportunity for you.

Working as part of our team you will take the lead and liaise with multiple stakeholders including parents and carers, schools, colleges, and other education settings as well as day care centres, external contractors, and colleagues to deliver travel assistance to our passengers.

You will have excellent logistical and planning abilities, be able to manage a large workforce as well as have the skills to organise and communicate clearly to build great relationships with staff, parents and carers and all stakeholders across the service. This is a really rewarding role and you absolutely don’t need to be experienced working in the same field however, understanding vulnerable people, adults and children who have a special educational need or disability, or logistical planning and service delivery of a large work plan is required.

What you will be doing:

Making sure our passengers get the support they need or get to where they need to be by leading management of the team to deliver safe and reliable daily transport provision and travel assistance.

Lead the team to develop and implement training opportunities to our staff and devise best practice with our suppliers and colleagues.

Collaborate with customers, contractors, parents and carers, schools, and day care centre staff to manage new referrals or make any changes to transport or travel assistance in line with any policy, eligibility, risk assessment or other statutory guidance.

Making sure our passengers are safe by carrying out risk assessments and embedding excellent health and safety practices.

Support with budget management across the service, monitoring of internally delivered and contracted transport as well as payments made to parents or carers.

Measuring success and providing operational performance information.

What you must have:

Excellent coordination and organisational skills and ability to work in a high-volume environment.

A Passion to achieve positive results for the people you engage with a collaborative approach to working with excellent interpersonal and listening skills.

Creativity to help develop and maintain the service provided and problem solve issues that arise daily.

Flexibility in your approach to meet customer engagement and the needs of the service.

Integrity in your approach, being respectful and doing things in the right way and maintain confidentiality.

We can offer you family-friendly policies, generous annual leave, employee discounts and a great pension scheme.

It is important that we are the right fit and share the same values, which is why we would love a chat with you to talk through the role and answer any questions. Please contact Ged Faint, Integrated Transport Unit Manager on 01642 353439.
