Groundwork London is seeking a Community Programme Manager skilled in community engagement and climate adaptation to join our pan London community team, working primarily in West London.

The Groundwork London Community Team empowers residents, stakeholders and grassroot groups, including those who may be under-represented in mainstream consultation exercises, to build their confidence, skill and capabilities to become agents of change. We co-create exciting engagement strategies with communities, partners and clients to establish vibrant open spaces that meet the needs of communities. This may include parks, play spaces, community gardens, food growing areas or spaces for recreation and leisure activities. By running activities and volunteering sessions in these spaces, we can bring different groups together to build social connections and boost wellbeing.

As Community Programme Manager (CPM), you will be responsible for the Groundwork West Community Team leadership and management, supporting staff in their professional development and providing support in the delivery of their projects. Furthermore, the CPM will develop and deliver multi-faceted projects and lead the development and management of strategic partners. The role will include managing an exciting and innovative programme of green space regeneration and climate change adaptation projects, working with local authorities, housing associations and other third sector partners to deliver the programme work and develop new projects. The role will primarily work on projects in West London boroughs.

Groundwork London works with communities across the capital to transform their lives and the places they live. We have been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 25 years, and today we have a simple mission: to create better places, improve people’s prospects, and promote greener living and working. We are passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny, and no one is held back by their background or circumstances.

Please contact us if this sounds like you and you have:

  • Extensive experience in mobilising, delivering and managing community, sustainability, environmental or regeneration projects.
  • Are passionate about using co-production principles to create inclusive engagement strategies with communities, VCS organisations and clients.
  • Team and project leadership and management qualities.
  • Experience and/or professional connections to West London community development work.
  • Strong Partnership development skills, working with the voluntary and public sectors.
