This post is employed by the London Borough of Islington, based within Adopt London North but working on behalf of the four Adopt London Regional Adoption Agencies, and in close partnership with LBTC.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Black Adoption Project full time at a key juncture in our work and to make a real impact on reducing disparities in the lives of Black children and families.Reporting to the Steering Committee and senior leaders, you will be responsible for driving forward our ambitious agenda to undertake and evaluate a series of pilot projects as well as maintaining and developing key stakeholder and community relationships. You will support communication about the Black Adoption Project with a wide range of regional and national stakeholders, and ensure that all areas of work are undertaken in a way that is consistent with our project principles and theory of change.
A substantial proportion of this work focuses on racism, marginalisation and discrimination and as such we welcome applications from those with personal experience of these issues, and who are typically underrepresented in senior leadership roles. This includes individuals that identify as Black, care experienced, LGBTQ+ and with caring responsibilities.
This post could be available as a secondment if you are permanently employed by one of the 24 Adopt London boroughs and your employer is in agreement. You will be asked to confirm your employer’s agreement prior to interview if you are shortlisted for the role. You can find a list of the 24 Adopt London boroughs here:https://adoptlondon.org.uk/about/
You will be informed of the shortlisting outcome by Friday 24th May. Interviews will consist of a prepared presentation to a stakeholder panel and an interview panel, which will both take place on Tuesday 4th June in Islington. You will be provided with more information about the interview process if your application is shortlisted.
