Achieving for Children is an award-winning social enterprise created by Kingston and Richmond Councils in 2014, expanding into the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead in 2017. We are responsible for delivering the entirety of children’s services in all three local authorities.

Achieving for Children has been up and running for four years, and in that time, we have established a reputation as one of the leading children’s services providers in the country. We are one of the Department for Education’s eight ‘Partners in Practice’, tasked with leading improvement across the sector.

We are looking for a full time Community Nursery Nurse to join our skill mix team which is part of the Health Visiting team at a time of exciting and positive change.

As a Community Nursery Nurse for Achieving for Children, you will support our Health Visitors and be part of our skill mix team.

You will complete the universal child development review for 1 year and 2 year olds in RBWM using the ASQ tool. Which is part of the national healthy child programme. From these reviews families will be signposted to other services if required, advice, support and public health messages will also be delivered at these times.

You will also have a small caseload which will be overseen by the health visitors providing packages of care to families who need extra support such as sleep, infant feeding, behavioural issues.

Our Community Nursery Nurse also runs our nurture groups for first time mum’s. You will provide a safe stimulating environment for families to get to know each other and develop supportive relationships. At the nurture group you will deliver health promotion messages and role model activities.

The Community Nursery Nurses along with the Health Visitors run the well baby clinics. These are drops-in where families can access the Health Visiting team to gain advice and support.

You will also be part of the duty rota which provides telephone support for families on a range of health related subjects.
