Scams, doorstep crime and other forms of financial abuse ruins lives - would you like to join us and prevent such victims in Oxfordshire and help support those who have?
About us
Our team is at the forefront of helping to prevent the residents of Oxfordshire becoming victims of scams and doorstep crime, in addition to protecting and supporting those who have become victims - many of whom are particularly vulnerable.
About the role
The work involves a wide range of activities aimed at raising the awareness of scams, in all their forms and sharing advice on what steps can be taken to protect yourself and others in our communities. You will give talks, presentations, and training events (in person and online), to a wide range of audiences.
You will be supporting victims of such crimes, working with a range of other partner agencies. You will need to be able to talk to people in a sensitive and caring manner, being able to actively listen and identify innovative and creative ways of achieving the best outcome for our residents.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, confident person to join our team as a Community Liaison Officer at Oxfordshire County Council’s Trading Standards Service.
You will also have the opportunity to assist in the full range of interesting activities conducted by our trading standards team, as well as the opportunity to undertake the Chartered Trading Standards Institute’s Trading Standards Practitioners Certificate qualification.
This is a full-time post, however requests for flexible hours will be considered.
Rewards and benefits
It really is true that every single job role here contributes to bettering the lives of the people in our county - we want to do this for our employees too. We are proud of our strong flexible working culture, including the opportunity for flexibility on working hours and the use of technology to support agile working. We offer some of the very best learning and development opportunities to support your ongoing development.
We have a generous holiday allowance which rises as you remain in employment with us up to 32 days, as well as giving you the option to buy additional holiday. You will also have access to a Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contributions of up to 19.9% of your salary; a range of local and national retail discounts; and a host of enhanced family friendly policies including carers leave and paid time off for volunteering.
