Job OverviewBand 6 Learning Disabilities Nursing PostWe are extremely proud to have been awarded a HSJ award this year - Mental Health Trust of the year, November 2021!This is an exciting period of innovation for the learning disability service and a wonderful opportunity to join the Community Learning Disabilities Nursing Team.The post holder will be a key member of our dynamic, compassionate and dedicated nursing team providing client centered care using evidence based practice to deliver the highest standards of care to our clients. You will undertake triage, assessments, plan, implement and evaluate care that will all be aligned to best practice standards and principles that reflect of our commitment to provide the very best care to our clients.Main duties of the jobYou will be empowered and facilitated to work autonomously, as part of your team and the wider MDT. You will be supported to work across professional boundaries and manage a caseload of adults with severe and/or complex learning disabilities.You will be presented with wonderful opportunities to contribute to the maintenance and development of the learning disability service. You will also play a key role in developing quality and service improvements.We have a number of base locations and there is some negotiation around this that can be discussed with the appointed applicant.The following is a list of the key relationships that the post holder will engage with:
  • Service Users, carers and families and other people who are significant to the service user
  • Line Manager
  • Clinical supervisors
  • Other CTALD professionals including Consultant Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapist and Psychology Professionals
