We are looking for an innovative and emphatic individual to join our Redcar Domestic Abuse Services Refuge as a Community IDVA.

The IDVA post will offer an innovative approach to meet the needs of survivors of domestic abuse within community settings. The community IDVA’s will target their work to reach victims in underrepresented groups across the whole area urban and rural.

They will work to strengthen our already existing links with partner organisations and work collaboratively to provide IDVA support and domestic abuse awareness within these organisations. The IDVA’s will be a single point of contact for partner organisations.

The IDVA’s will tailor support to individuals. They will have experience of, or be trained in, supporting people with protected characteristics who are experiencing domestic abuse. Being visible and networking within these groups will provide the opportunity to raise awareness and also provide education around domestic abuse, with the aim of reducing incidents of domestic abuse

Critical to your success in this role is your ability to support the empowerment of your clients and support them to regain control of their lives.
