Are you interested in an exciting vacancy in the NHS England East of England region’s communications team?

This is a new role, and the successful candidate will work across both our marketing and media teams, identifying and promoting the positive work of the NHS through a range of communications channels including regional press and tv, social media and working with our national communications team.

As part of the regional communications and engagement team, they will deliver proactive and reactive communications to a range of internal and external audiences that support our national and regional priorities.

The postholder will need to work with a wide range of colleagues within the organisation and externally with trusts and healthcare systems across the region. This role requires an enthusiastic candidate with excellent communications skills, a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to seek out and create compelling stories about the work of the NHS in the East of England region.

The post holder will be a member of the regional communications and engagement team delivering a service to support NHS England across the East of England. All team members, regardless of their role or seniority, will have responsibility for gathering, contributing to, sharing and producing the information, intelligence and subsequent tasks required of the communications and engagement team. At any given time an individual will have responsibilities that will be focused upon a

local office as well as delivering cross-region responsibilities commissioned by the region and/or in support of national programmes of work. In this way the communications and engagement team will replicate the regional and local responsibilities of the regional executive team.

As a Communications and Engagement Manager, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the East of England].

The post holder will support the Head of Department and their team to ensure that their work stream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery:
  • Manage the team’s business support function, including developing and managing the team’s business plan, progress and reporting risk and issue
Liaise with appropriate functions within the regions, organisation and the Sector.
  • Manage all corporate business returns, including planning and workforce
  • Develop and implement a content management system to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, Directorate and the wider NHS
  • Take a lead in the coordination of training & development and recruitment activity across the
  • Oversight and management of all aspects of the team/ project
The post-holder will be expected to be part of the Out of Hours rota as required.
