We are currently embarking on a number of new exciting hotel restaurant concepts across our Bovey Castle, five red star resort. Having already began recruitment for our Smith’s Mediterranean Brasserie, we now look ahead to transforming our current 3 rosette offering for the launch of our high end Great Western Grill. This concept is an exciting change in recognising the ongoing customer demand for high quality, seasonal and refined ‘best loved dishes’ without the formality of fine dining. The new concept is akin to the grill style offering seen in London based acclaimed chef restaurants with a real focus on local produce and niche suppliers. Working as part of our Executive Chef, Mark Budd’s brigade, this role is perfect for an up-and-coming Chef, keen to gain further experience in a property with a focus on concept led dining, both fine dining and informal. What you’ll be doing? As Commis Chef, you will be supporting the senior chefs by preparing fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients for service in the fast pace of our busy kitchen, working alongside a first-class team of talented chefs, creating food that looks and tastes delicious. You won’t be expected to have exceptional food knowledge just yet, but it is crucial you have basic cookery skills, such as Professional Cookery Level 2 / Commis Chef Apprenticeship Standard qualification; A passion for food and produce, with a pride in its delivery to the plate; Your potential, your commitment, and your ability to work under pressure alongside being an excellent team player, is every bit as important to us as your knife-handling skills.
