About the role…

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Support Manager,on a permanent contract. Due to the continued growth of IVC Evidensia’s Farm and Equine portfolio it is necessary to recruit a commercial support role to assist the Head of Commercial - Farm and Equine with practice support, central commercial support and some aspect s of procurement.

The role will act as the bridge between IVC Evidensia’s commercial strategy and our practices, offering support and insight to both practices, operational staff and central support office functions. The Commercial Support manager will also develop relationships with suppliers and work to identify areas of opportunity for growth, supporting our commercial partnerships at a practice level. There will be opportunity to develop new relationships and work to deliver value through improved procurement to achieve growth targets in line with the business aims. Supporting the transition of Farm & Equine practices on joining the group and facilitating a smooth integration and implementation of the procurement process and strategy.


Key responsibilities:

  • You will be directly involved in supporting and improving procurement of farm and equine products, looking to build and maintain relationships with all of our key suppliers. There will be scope for developing new relationships and exploring opportunities for the business as you proactively explore avenues of growth and efficiency for the farm and equine practices.
  • Key to this will be maintaining these new and existing relationships with both manufacturers and internal stakeholders to deliver a great experience for all involved. This will include managing supply chain to ensure our practices can continue to provide the excellent service that our customers expect.
  • You will work closely with the Head of Commercial – Farm and Equine to meet the expectations of IVC Evidensia, our practices and our partners and thrive on being a vital part of the farm and equine teams.
  • You will be in charge of maintaining the Farm Price list – A key tool for our practices to understand how they can manage the pricing of drugs in their local environments.
  • You will also be responsible for the maintenance and distribution of the Farm and Equine Buy Lists working with the farm and equine clinical boards and procurement teams to ensure that product choice is both clinically and commercially approved.
  • You will support our central commercial team to continue delivering excellent compliance to these lists, both for existing and new practices joining the group.
  • The role will involve continued analysis and monitoring of practices purchasing history – To support the commercial team, our supply partners, Business Support and Operations managers and the Farm and Equine Group Veterinary Advisors as required. Develop and maintain a full suite of KPI’s to support this function.
  • Finally, you will provide continued support to practices – Ensuring they have all the commercial and clinical tools available to offer our clients a first class service.

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will be somebody with a passion for the larger animal side of the veterinary profession. Somebody with a keen sense of accountability to all stakeholders – Practices, manufacturers and central support function. We are looking for a candidate who has the desire to identify and pursue opportunities for growth and efficiency; ultimately improving performance across the farm and equine practices of IVC Evidensia. Ideally you will have previous experience of the veterinary industry this would be beneficial although not essential however a passion for supporting people to do business, analytical mind and entrepreneurial personality are a must! You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills at all levels, and excellent verbal and written communication – sensitive to the difficulties of non-face to face interactions and responsive to the pressures of our practices and the central support function. You will have a clear understanding of pharmaceutical procurement, supply chains and regulatory processes. We are looking for someone who has evidence of performing in fast paced environments with ability to handle changing range and scope to fit with overarching strategy, and evidence of commercial acumen.

A demonstrated ability working with Microsoft Office applications including particularly Outlook, Excel and Word, and able to discuss reporting / data analysis capability. You will be comfortable with commercial language and data processing. Previous experience providing regular reports to senior management teams, and previous experience of pharmaceutical sales processes and understanding of a sales excellence profile would be an advantage but not essential. You will be compliant with all company Policies and Procedures and be able to comply with Health and Safety regulations and other current legislation as applicable. Finally, undertake all other reasonable duties as required. A full UK driving licence will be required.
