Job DescriptionA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join the Team.
The key purpose of this role is to support the delivery of Applied Sciences which is the commercial engineering division of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The role will focus specifically on one core project for Applied Sciences and will ensure that it is delivered within budget and any deviation from budget should be made known and clearly understood. In addition, this role will require the creation and establishment of new internal processes and reports, to support senior management decision making (internal and external), whilst always ensuring adherence to Daimler policy requirements.
This role should also contribute to the finance department in its objective of achieving “World Class Finance Team Performance”. Challenging existing processes with a core focus on the use of automation and robotics.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Business Partnering
- Provide accurate analysis that provides insight and aids decision making. In addition to effective challenge to stakeholders, whilst remaining independent.
- Develop processes to ensure Daimler policy compliance at all stages of the project.
- Managing all income and cost recognition as well as supporting project / contract management with project accounting philosophies.
- Completion of necessary transactions in SAP such as invoicing and PO approval etc., when required.
- Develop reporting and forecasting, creating financial transparency on actual project performance versus budget (plan).
- Develop management reporting for CFO and non-finance audiences.
- Determine data requirements and structures to deliver effective reporting.
- Understand data source and possibility of automatic extraction of data to feed into new reporting models.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across the various reporting mechanisms and source systems.
- Financial planning duties, including preparation of the company operating plan (OP) and expected actuals (EA).
- Work within the finance department to develop process, policy and system improvements that enhance functionality, accuracy and integrity.
- Identify areas which would benefit from the use of automation/robotic technology to eliminate repetitive and/or non-efficient tasks.
- The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level and CIMA / ACCA qualified plus experience post-qualification.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with SAP.
- Experience of working in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience of working in a commercial business and/or ‘project based’ business.
- Experience working with HR and with confidential/sensitive information.
- Strong communication skills to senior management and non-finance audiences.
