The company


We are a successful agency within the of NFU Mutual network with over 70 years combined experience within the Agency. With a client base predominantly rural, we look to provide excellent customer service and award-winning products to our customers by taking the time to understand their needs. We are looking for a commercial account handler to assist the Agency with the acquisition and retention of commercial clients.


Key Skills


  • Strong IT skills are essential, candidate must be competent in Microsoft programmes

  • Effective communicator, both verbally and written

  • Good attention to detail

  • Ability to spot cross sell opportunities

  • Confidence to resolve problems with a solution focused approach


Areas of responsibility


  • Servicing current polices and assisting with retention of commercial clients

  • Building client relationships to maximise potential for future business and referrals

  • Building internal relationships with underwriting and intermediaries to maximise efficiency when processing.

  • Assistance in driving new business leads into the agency; nurturing these leads to quote stage by using effective contact strategies.

  • Supporting ad-hoc prospecting and sales campaigns

  • Providing technical advice and expertise to meet client needs, finding the best solutions and covers for individuals requirements

Working hours are 35 hours per week, 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday in the York office with potential to cover Thirsk office when needed.
