Cloud Engineer
Knutsford

As a Cloud Engineer you will develop components and applications that make up the GTIS Public Cloud offering. These include traditional web applications hosted on premise, infrastructure as code solutions and serverless based applications hosted within AWS accounts. You will be based within Global Technology Infrastructure Services (GTIS), which is accountable for delivering and supporting resilient, secure infrastructure technology and services to customers, clients and colleagues.

What will you be doing?

  • Driving deliveries assigned within through an agile project methodology
  • Providing daily subject matter expertise and suggest new ways forward and coming up with new feature ideas
  • Building development CI/CD pipelines for zero-touch deployments
  • Inputting into product configurations, software choices, interoperability, CI/CD framework implementation
  • Reading and writing documentation and specifications and debugging issues and writing tests
  • Improving software delivery mechanisms for restricted environments
  • Participating in code reviews and designing scalable distributed applications
  • Delivering presentations and technical demonstrations to educate stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

  • Experienced in Python
  • Good Knowledge Using Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience
  • Demonstrated Agile methodologies, version control (GIT), RDBMs, Restful APIs
  • Experienced with automated testing approaches e.g. BDD, Unit, TDD and practical understanding of CI/CD processes, concepts and benefits

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Experienced with Infrastructure as code
  • JacExperienced with Jenkins
  • Good Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
  • Flask and React

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
