We have an exciting opportunity for 2 enthusiastic Clinical Support Workers who would like to join our Adult Acute Mental Health In-patient Ward


As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role in the health of the people of Scotland.


Applications are invited from suitably experienced individuals to join the H&I Laboratory based at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. The H&I laboratory is one of two SNBTS Clinical laboratories based at the hospital and is MHRA, UKAS and EFI accredited. A well-equipped, modern laboratory, the 24hr H&I service supports solid organ transplant programmes in the East of Scotland and the provision of HLA matched platelets.


The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that samples are registered for appropriate testing and will be responsible for issuing laboratory results to service users. Responsibilities will also include general housekeeping and administrative duties. Applicants must be computer literate with good keyboard skills, have good communication and organisational skills, attention to detail, be reliable, enthusiastic, have good interpersonal skills and be able to work individually and as part of a team.


Given the fixed term nature of the post, applicants must have previous experience of working within the field of H&I.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check.


Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
