Clinical Psychologist Band 8A (0.6 wte) - Band 7 Preceptorship Model applies until 1 year post Qualification

Tayside Psychological Therapies Service is looking to appoint to a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist post for 0.6 wte for the Angus Area which will currently be based within Learning Disabilities Service at Wedderburn House, Dundee.

The applicant should be committed to delivering high quality and effective psychological services for adults with a learning disability. We will consider applications from current Trainee Clinical Psychologists completing their Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course in 2021, a Band 7 preceptorship model would apply until 1 year post-qualification.

The post holder will provide psychological assessment, treatment and consultation to adults with learning disabilities, carers and families in the Tayside Region working within community, outpatient and day service settings. The post requires the ability to take a lead role in assessment and the formulation of complex cases within the context of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working. The postholder will have regular access to clinical supervision and peer support.

The Learning Disability Service is a friendly and supportive work environment and the Learning Disability Psychology section interests include: Trauma, Parenting, Behaviour Family Therapy; Dementia and Cognitive Analytic Therapy.

The postholder will be expected to provide consultation and supervision to other staff members and multi-disciplinary colleagues and will have opportunity to contribute to an established training agenda.

The postholder will have completed post-graduate Doctoral training in Clinical Psychology/or be due to complete in 2021 and will require to eligible for registration with the Health Professions Council and for Chartered Status with the British Psychological Society.
