The Paediatric team at HHFT are looking for a 0.6 WTE Clinical Fellow or Specialist to join our team based at the Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital, part of Hampshire Hospitals NHS trust.This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to work in a beautiful part of the country with close transport links to London & the coast. The area offers great schools, transport links, housing & amenities.The successful applicant would join an existing team of five Consultant Community Paediatricians and three Associate Specialists in Community Paediatrics at HHFT.This post would be suitable for someone who already has experience in community paediatrics and is wishing to relocate to a dynamic & friendly department in a lovely part of the country. Alternatively, it would also be suitable for a paediatrician who is wishing to explore Community Paediatrics as a career, either through the CCT route or CESR route. Relevant training would be offered to the right candidate to fulfil the role as required.The successful post holder would be expected to work alongside and complement the existing skill mix of the department, which includes neurodevelopmental assessments, complex neurodisability, autism assessments, and adoption & fostering. There will also be opportunities for the post holder to develop skills in child protection, including CSA.Both the community paediatricians and acute paediatricians work closely together, offering integrated services across the patch, sharing ideas, and liaising closely with one another. Our multi-professional referral meetings are widely attended by allied professionals from education, therapy & social care, providing an excellent resource for learning & dissemination of information and advice.The Successful Applicant Would Be Expected To
  • Contribute to the provision of community services by conducting clinics in the hospital and outreach settings
  • Provide assessments of children with developmental delay, neurodevelopmental disorders, neuro-disability, special educational needs, Looked After Children
  • Work effectively within a multi-professional team
  • Ensure continuity of care for patients by liaison with community-based colleagues within the Directorate, and other agencies, when appropriate
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development in clinical practice and with regard to managerial responsibilities
  • Engage in clinical governance activity through the clinical forums
