The post holder will be responsible for supporting the planning, co-ordination and delivery of nurse education and training to healthcare staff working within the Trust across Ambulatory Care Division. This will include a variety of areas such as, Mandatory Training, Clinical Skills, Human Factors, Equipment Training, and supported working in the clinical area.


We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, confident, passionate about teaching and flexible in their approach, using their own initiative, with an ability to prioritize and work on multiple strands of work. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be an exceptional clinical role model. Main duties of the job

Supporting the delivery of education and training to nurses and other healthcare professionals within the children’s surgical inpatient and day case wards.

Develop and deliver on-going education, training and support for all members of the MDT.

Identify all opportunities for themselves and others where learning can take place, both formally and informally.

Maintain registers of training appropriate, support ward and departmental sisters/charge nurses to ensure mandatory training is compliant with Trust standard.

To maintain the delivery and quality of services provided within the care environment including the care delivered, setting of nursing standards, and leadership of the team working clinically with staff where needed to help the acquisition of skills, knowledge, and competence.

Facilitate and support staff to set up and sustain improvement initiatives and projects.

Identify areas for development and improvement and take proactive steps to support any required changes support the measurement of the impact of training and education and new initiatives and projects

Provide training and education within Ambulatory to all Nursing Staff.

Provide area support and supervision for staff/learners undergoing specific training, or who have specific learning needs, assisting in the development of clinical competence.

Provide communication with new staff between appointment and start date to foster good relations and to ensure recruitment is successful.

Be a visible presence in clinical areas demonstrating exemplary standards of clinical care and education, promoting the implementation of evidence based practice and inter-professional learning.

Support managers, preceptors and newly qualified staff in the process of transition from learner to qualified member of staff.

Ensure effective communication takes place with the relevant managers regarding individual’s progress and competencies.

Provide effective written and verbal feedback on performance, handling sensitive and confidential information as per information governance guidelines.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
