With revenues of more than $40 billion and the largest investment in R&D in the industry, we give our people the resources and chances to create significant contributions to the world.The job:We are looking for a Clinical Customer Development Manager to support procalcitonin (PCT) testing strategies in healthcare settings to achieve optimal patient and health economics outcomes by advancing the diagnosis of bacterial infection and antibiotic stewardship.This role is responsible for growing PCT clinical demand at healthcare settings (such as the NHS) across the UK through discovery and engagement of clinical and laboratory customers, education and trainings. The person in the role will also develop close working relationships with laboratory diagnostics equipment providers in the IVD market, who sell the test to the laboratory.This role will be field-based, with the successful candidate based anywhere in Scotland, England or Wales (ideally close to major transport links). Regular weekly travel within territory will be required – c.3 to 4 days per week on average (50-75% per annum), including some overnight stays.What will you do?
  • Own account profiling, targeting and development of healthcare settings within the region; Build relationships with key customers from Laboratory Leadership, C-suite and Clinical Leads, including Infectious Disease, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care and Antibiotic Stewardship Committees
  • Work with License Partners to coordinate activities with target accounts
  • Gain agreement from key hospital/healthcare setting decision-makers for broad test utilization, achieve hospital-wide protocol adoption and implementation
  • Analyze account dynamics to gain a deep understanding of customer objectives and customer clinical challenges; Use clinical insights to build and implement education strategy
  • Deliver education programs through 1:1 presentation and clinical sessions
  • Collaborate with regional Scientific Liaisons, Medical Affairs team and Marketing team to provide clinical expertise in message development for presenting clinical value of PCT assay
  • Ensure that all training, presentations and discussions are consistent with approved product indications for use
  • Be representative of ThermoFisher during local, regional, national, and international meetings and events
  • Be accountable to an annual operating growth plan as well as individual performance related to specific activity metrics
  • Report all activities and clinical opportunities into our Customer Relationship Management tool (SFDC)
Who we are looking for:Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Medicine, Biology, Pharmacy or similar field is required
  • A business degree or qualification would be an advantage, but not essential
Experience
  • Extensive clinical healthcare experience, with a preference for experience in diagnostic lab settings, clinical demand, customer development or key accounts
  • Experience engaging and influencing decision makers from different healthcare settings - particularly within the NHS - such as laboratory, pharmacy, ICU, ED and hospital administration
  • Knowledge of NICE guidelines
  • Experience with conducting customer or colleague trainings
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of Health Economics of interest
  • Able to establish and develop strategic customer and partner relationships
  • Self-directed and highly motivated
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong presentation and organization skills
  • Ability to travel extensively and as needed; c.3 to 4 days per week, including overnights
  • Proficient with SFDC CRM, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
