HHFT has an exciting vacancy within our dedicated Apprenticeship Team that combines clinical skills and knowledge along with training and assessing skills.

The key purpose of this role is to train and support apprentice Healthcare Support Workers in their practice placements within their clinical settings.

This is a permanent contract with full-time hours available. Part-time hours will also be considered.

The post holder will report to a Clinical Apprenticeships Facilitator (Band 6), spend time within the clinical setting(s) and provide coaching and feedback to apprentices both face to face and through assessing written assignments, supporting them to be successful in their role and at their End Point Assessment.

The ideal candidate should have/be:
  • Senior Healthcare Support Worker or similar clinical role with an NVQ (or apprenticeship) Level 3/A Level in Health or Health and Social Care, and a Foundation Degree (or be working towards)
  • Maths and English qualifications - Functional Skills Level 2 /GCSE grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent
  • Clinical competence in a wide range of clinical skills
  • Previous assessing/teaching/training experience
  • Assessor qualification
  • Ability to communicate complex information and be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust has gained Training Provider status and is able to train its own Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs) through the Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeship Standards.

This is a developmental role and we will consider candidates who are new to apprenticeship training and assessment. Training will be provided and the post holder will transition from band 3 to band 4 on successful completion.

You will help our apprentices embed new clinical knowledge and skills in the workplace, complete their care certificates, assist them to gather e-portfolio evidence, and make assessments of their competence.

Other duties may include: induction training and facilitation; evaluation and progress reviews as appropriate; efficient record keeping using electronic e-portfolio systems; and supporting, advising, assisting and assessing apprentices during their training.
