St. Nicholas CEVA Child Okeford Primary School

The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Clerk to the as soon as possible to clerk ten meetings per year.

This rewarding role covers a wide range of responsibilities including:

  • Providing proactive support with agenda setting, including the production of a draft agenda for each meeting. Issuing the agenda and all the supporting paperwork in readiness for the meeting
  • Attendance at meetings to take minutes and provide advice on governance issues when required. Meetings are carried out online with Google Meet. Currently 10 meetings per year.
  • Preparation, amendment and issuing of the minutes
  • Provide advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters
  • General administrative support for the governing body
  • The clerking of any additional meetings which will be paid extra
  • Understand and abide by the confidential nature of the role at all times
  • Be conversant with general IT, as all of the paperwork is sent out via the Governors Virtual Office

Knowledge of how schools and governing bodies operate would be an advantage along with previous experience of similar work but not essential.

The ability to be flexible is essential as meetings can be held during the day, after school and in the evenings.

Computer skills and access to a computer is essential.
