WELLINGTON COLLEGE

Required As Soon As Possible

Wellington College is one of the world’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools and has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation. We are currently looking for a well-organised, flexible individual with experience gained in a similar role, to join our Health and Fitness Club (WCE) as a Cleaner.

Essential to the smooth running of the College, our Domestic Services Department ensures that all areas of the College are cleaned and maintained safely and to the highest standard. It also constantly strives to achieve excellence in its service provision. Join us, and you will play an important role at the heart of our friendly and highly professional team.

As a Cleaner, we’ll rely on you to help us maintain a clean, hygienic and safe environment within designated areas, which includes the toilets and shower areas in WCE. As well as tasks like washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, dusting, and the emptying of litterbins, you will also maintain fixtures and fittings and, where appropriate, use powered equipment. You will need to comply with all Colleges policies and statutory regulations relating to Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH.

To succeed, you will need to be reasonably physically fit, have proven experience in a cleaning role and be familiar with COSHH in an educational setting and Health & Safety at work in general. You will also need awareness of Safeguarding requirements and good practice within an educational setting. A well-developed understanding of the English language is important too, as is flexibility over working hours, including covering weekends on a rota of not less than one weekend in four all year round. Smart and professional in appearance, you will be comfortable working alone without direction, have excellent attention to detail and remain calm under pressure.

So, if you are committed to contributing towards the College community and keen to play your part within our Domestic Services team, apply today.

Closing date: 13 July 2021
