Based in our Llantrisant office, the role of Desktop Claims Technician will handle a caseload of claims from start to finish. The successful applicant will liaise with clients over the phone and email, and ensure effective communication is maintained throughout.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Effective caseload management of claims from start to finish
  • Ensuring phone calls are answered and queries attended to via email within agreed service levels
  • Assisting colleagues where necessary with office duties
  • Pro-active management of claims caseload
  • Knowledge of claims and policies
  • Ensuring the communication lines coming into the offices are responded to with correct advice
  • Make effective and prompt decisions in respect of policy cover
  • Able to communicate decisions clearly over the phone and in written form
  • Have the ability to assist others with the knowledge gained
  • Comply with all Gallagher Bassett and office procedures
  • Any other duties as required by Gallagher Bassett
Essential Skills
  • Good understanding of the insurance industry or financial background
  • Previous phone based customer service experience ideally gained within the insurance industry
  • Ability to meet specific deadlines
  • A committed and flexible approach
  • Displays enthusiasm and commitment, willing to take responsibility for own actions
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the company’s in-house claims system and a working knowledge of all other systems to use as part of the role
  • Good attention to detail and understanding of the importance of accurate and thorough data capture
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to prioritise workloads
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and effective organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective time-management skills
