Infrastructure Finance and Advisory

The Infrastructure Finance and Advisory team originates, structures and executes infrastructure finance transactions in developed and emerging markets. The team’s coverage is global, with London-based members focusing on EMEA. We finance greenfield and brownfield projects across a variety of sectors including transportation, energy, power, telecommunications and social infrastructure as well as acquisition financing in these sectors. Team members have backgrounds in project finance, leverage finance , structured finance, ratings and derivatives, and we invariably work with colleagues in M&A advisory, debt capital markets, derivatives structuring and other coverage and product groups. By leveraging expertise across products, sectors and markets, the Infrastructure Finance and Advisory team integrates and customizes offerings and solutions to help our clients meet their strategic, financial and risk management objectives.

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced banker to be based in London who will help consolidating IFA’s leading position in the EMEA region. The recruited professional would:

  • Lead all aspects of deal execution for bank and bond financings, focusing primarily on transactions in developed markets in continental Europe and UK ("Europe") . Responsibilities will include structuring, contract negotiation, due diligence, consultant management and leading credit ratings processes
  • Oversee the development of financial models
  • Lead credit risk and other internal approval processes
  • Assist product teams in structuring hedging products
  • Work with coverage and relationship bankers to pitch for new engagements and develop client relationships
  • Conduct industry and company research to identify new opportunities


Qualifications
  • 6-8 years of project/infrastructure finance experience
  • Experience with infrastructure finance transactions in Europe required
  • Written and oral fluency in a second European language would be a plus, but not essential
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in accounting, finance, economics or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Candidate has existing infrastructure client and investor relationships and knowledge of the infrastructure industry and markets
  • Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and financial products including bank loans, bonds, rates, FX and structured products
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Must be a self-starter who takes initiative and anticipates deal team needs
  • Willingness to work hard and be a team player. We work closely with partners in client coverage, capital markets, credit, and derivatives, as well as our partners across the control functions
  • An ability to juggle deliverables for long-term transactions as well as a busy day-to-day schedule

The ideal candidate is a team player with superior analytical skills. It is critical for the individual to have strong presentation and client marketing skills and a creative and commercial approach to identifying new business opportunities. It is also important that this person display maturity, good judgment and an ability to work with professionals at all levels inside J.P. Morgan. Strong problem solving and project management skills are a must.

It is expected that the candidate demonstrate leadership qualities that are team-oriented, fostering and collegial. The ability to delegate effectively and pay attention to detail while maintaining a high level of productivity will be important.
