Chief Informatyion Officer - Band 8d - IT - 37.5 Hours per week - Permanent

The Trust delivers services to patients seven days a week and aims to provide equality of treatment and outcome regardless of the day of the week. To meet these aims and changing service requirements, the Trust may need you either to work temporarily outside of your core hours or to permanently change your core working days and hours. The Trust will give you reasonable notice, where possible, of temporary changes to your days or hours of work and will consult with you and/or your staff representatives about substantial permanent changes, but ultimately, these are changes which may be required of you .

The Chief Information Officer will be:

Responsible for leading on and the delivery of a robust IM&T strategy and investment programme that supports the organisations long term vision and business plans incorporating an integrated Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system, with enhanced interoperability and service delivery that realises quantifiable benefits for staff and patients alike.

To provide the essential leadership and knowledge for the development and creation of appropriate business cases in supporting developments while prioritising and planning the IM&T programme, projects and activities and for ensuring their successful delivery on time and within budget while meeting the specifications

The post holder will work closely with executive directors, programme staff, external stakeholders and our EPR provider and associated suppliers, being accountable for the implementation of IM&T solutions and associated change programmes that enable business development and process changes to improve clinical quality, patient safety and reduce costs.

Maintain and lead a strong IM&T team in the delivery and operation of IM&T services across the Trust, Community and beyond while maintaining a quality assurance process which meets both national and local requirements.

CAR PARKING- This post does notentitle you to apply to park on the Hospital site. The Trust offer parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack.

If required to work on a weekend, the restriction does not apply Parking is allowed on site Saturday and Sunday please visit the car park office before you leave site and the car park team will validate your parking at the staff daily rate.

For posts that include “on call” duties successful candidates will be able to access on site parking for their ‘on call’ rostered days only. Please provide details of your on call days to the car park office who will validate parking at the staff rate on these days only.
