Butler Rose are proud to be working alongside an Oxfordshire business who have experienced strong growth in the past 2-3 years with latest results of £4m EBITDA on £14.1 net revenue. Our client is currently seeking an ambitious CFO and offering a lucrative package including equity in the business.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their leadership team. The company is backed by private equity and operates internationally with overseas subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PE-backed businesses, international experience, and expertise in managing financial software migrations, preferably to Netsuite.

The CFO will work closely with the CEO, Board, and Investors to lead, monitor, and manage the business while driving growth and profitability. Preparing the financial objectives for the business, responsible for the annual budgeting process in line with growth plans forecasting and financial planning.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for finance, plus lead on internal compliance and governance and a range of other business support operations. They must develop, lead and motivate a fit for purpose, future proof and scalable finance function, which provides the effective infrastructure (people, process, systems and commercial insight) to support the business’s growth plans.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the business has robust supporting financial models to deliver targets. Proactively lead the design and provision of relevant and insightful financial and operating information and analysis to the Board in a timely manner (including monthly KPIs, P&L, CF and BS), giving a clear overview of business performance and fuelling commercial decision making and strategic planning discussions.

Key requirements

  • A qualified accountant and graduate, with excellent financial acumen.
  • Good personal presence and a strong personal leadership style combined with a confident, entrepreneurial and hard-working approach.
  • Technically capable, pragmatic, very commercially aware and possess the ability to inspire and influence people at all levels.
  • Strong financial leadership experience, preferably as a CFO or in a senior finance role.
  • Prior experience working for private equity-backed businesses and understanding the associated priorities and pressures.
  • International experience, including managing businesses with overseas subsidiaries.
  • Experience in international mergers and acquisitions, preferably in Asia.
  • Familiarity with managing people businesses.
  • Experience in managing financial software migrations, preferably to Netsuite.

The CFO will be a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a member of the Board. They will have a significant voice in shaping the company’s commercial and strategic decisions. The role requires a strategic mindset, strong financial acumen, and excellent communication skills to effectively represent the business both internally and externally.
