About Us

Chippenham Borough Lands Charity is a funder and landowner with a long history in supporting our local community. We support local people and organisations in welfare, education, arts and community projects and our strategic priorities for the coming three years are focussed on responding to the cost-of-living crisis while building for the future through our stated mission of improving the welfare and wellbeing of our community through grants, guidance & great places.

With a small and dedicated staff team of six, we are proud of what our charity achieves – in the past year alone, we have completed the construction of an innovative climbing centre, skatepark and play area, whilst also awarding a bumper round of grants to individuals, families and groups in the run up to Christmas. We certainly don’t stand still – and we’re excited about our future. That’s where you come in.

About The Role

We are now looking for a Chief Executive to lead our charity towards its goals and objectives.

The CEO will be responsible for leading and managing the staff team, continuing the development and implementation of CBLC’s strategic and operational plans; ensuring strong financial control alongside supporting and advising on good governance across the charity.

You may have existing CEO-level experience, or be a senior manager within a not-for-profit organisation with the desire, vision and talents to step up. Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent), we are looking for someone to bring the following skills, approach and experience:

Experience:

* Proven experience of working as a charity or non-profit CEO, or at a senior level within a charity
* Change management skills
* Experience of leading and managing a team
* Ability to write and exhibit clear reports and presentations
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to prioritise and delegate work
* Experience of managing the finances of a charity and developing budgets
* Robust approach to governance, controls and implementation of new processes
Desirable
* Land management and maintenance
* Grant making charity operations and budgeting

This is advertised as a full-time position based in Chippenham, Wiltshire with a salary in the region of £55,000 depending on experience.

We will consider applications from individuals looking to work flexibly, with a minimum requirement of 4 days (30 hours) per week. Whilst some work can be completed remotely, trustees would expect the postholder to be in the office at least 3 days per week after a period of onsite induction and familiarisation.
