Casualty Injury Paralegal - Bristol

A leading international firm seeks a Paralegal to joint their Casualty Injury team. The successful candidate will join a market-leading team with a proven track record in EL/PL claims.

THE TEAM

The specialist Casualty Team provide nationwide coverage for personal injury claims across England, Wales and Scotland. The team is made up of talented lawyers specialising in handling employers liability and public liability claims. They will regularly advise clients on their duties, managing risk, investigating incidents and defending claims. The team works in partnership with Insureds and Insurers and will keep them informed of the latest changes to the law and provide practical advice in order to minimise claims exposure as the law changes.

THE ROLE

  • Effectively running files to ensure deadlines are met and cases managed proactively
  • Working efficiently to meet the needs of the clients, the commercial requirements of the firm and the quality standards to include:
  • Adherence to internal and client SLAs, KPIs and protocols
  • Devising and implementing a clear case strategy ensuring cases run smoothly and balance the commercial interests of both the Firm and the client
  • Applying appropriate and current technical expertise and case law
  • Managing risk and compliance issues within all cases, ensuring any emerging problems are escalated promptly to their Supervisor in the first instance
  • Engaging with clients where appropriate to maximise opportunities to meet and build rapport with them, at all times acting as an ambassador of the firm
  • Contribute to Business Development and client relationship activity in support of the Client Relationship Partner where required
  • Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions and reading appropriate publications
  • Prompt billing and collection of WIP and disbursements
  • Achievement of agreed financial targets
REQUIREMENTS

  • 0-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in Multi Track or Fast Track Claims
  • EL/PL Experience is preferred
  • A high level of personal compliance with firm protocols and procedures
  • Good legal knowledge relevant to their area of expertise
  • Good organisation skills, able to work to deadlines, prioritise own workload and meet conflicting demands
  • An ability to adopt a commercial perspective to legal issues.
  • High standard of written and oral communication skills
  • Able to produce work to a high standard, with excellent attention to detail and concern for quality of service
  • Team oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team
  • Confident negotiator
OTHER INFORMATION

  • Salary c. 25-30k depending on experience
