Description

The 3G Hub Assistant position will be part of the 3G Hub Team and work with the 3G Hub Co-ordinator to help manage, promote, run and maintain the new Performance and Sports building, the 3G pitch, the college old gyms and grass pitches. The 3G pitch, gym and grass pitches are run on a commercial basis so it is essential that we provide excellent customer service to the individuals and organisations that use these facilities, to maintain positive working relationships and repeat business.The 3G pitch is a new high grade facility that is able to accommodate both football and rugby. It is used by the college students during the day but is open for the community in the evenings and weekends. The new Performance and Sports building includes a large sports hall, a Fitness Suite and 121 seat theatre. This facility will be primarily a resource for students and staff but will be available for use for community activities. The college have also won the tender to maintain the 3G pitch at Pen Rhos Primary school.This post will be mainly to cover the evenings and weekend work but occasional early morning and day time sessions might be required. During the academic holidays, the 3G Hub Assistants will also be involved in offering a range of daily holiday activities for children and young people. There are also a number of sporting festivals during the year that the post holder will be involved in such as the Urdd Rugby and Football tournaments.



Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the co-ordination of activities on the Performance and Sports building, 3G, gyms and grass pitches;
  • Manage the changeover of sessions including setting up and taking down of the appropriate equipment in all areas of the Performance and Sports building, 3G pitch, Gyms and grass- pitches;
  • Run induction sessions for the Fitness Suite and maintain accurate records to ensure participants comply to health and safety guidelines;
  • Assist in the maintenance of the 3G pitch and gyms;
  • Deal with a wide range of individuals and organisations who use the Performance and Sports building, 3G, gyms and grass pitches;
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Pen Rhos 3G pitch;
  • Ensure that the use of the facilities by the members of the public comply with health and safety regulations and college policy;
  • Open up and lock down the facilities;
  • Assist in the running of the holiday camps for children and young people

Skills Knowledge And Expertise
  • GCSE English at minimum Grade C or O Level equivalent
  • GCSE Mathematics at minimum Grade C or O Level equivalent
  • Proven interest in Sport
  • Working with members of the public
  • Awareness of health and safety issues in sport
  • Good communicator with diplomacy and tact
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently
