We are looking to fill a vacancy in our Building Services, Construction and Motor Vehicle area, as an Assessor/Trainer- Carpentry for our Aylesbury campus. The overall requirement of the Assessor/Trainer – Carpentry is to deliver vocational training, assess and verify (where appropriate) College provision in a variety of environments, to enable learners to successfully achieve their qualification in a timely manner.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Regularly visit apprentices and students in the workplace and support them through training, coaching and assessment to meet the required standard.
  • To support apprentices from their induction through to their End Point Assessment.
  • To complete all Funding Agency and College documentation for learners and employers to support the training programme they are recruited to ensuring funding compliance at all times, including reviews conducted in the workplace.
  • Be primarily responsible for the recruitment of employers for apprentice placements and ensure that they are aware of their training obligations. Recruit suitable apprentices to match employer’s needs.
  • To attend relevant employer and sector groups to raise the profile of the College and the provisions available.
  • To carry out Health and Safety audits in the workplace and monitor learners’ health and safety.
  • To ensure the Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is completed, updated and maintained for all learners in liaison with curriculum staff and employers.
