The Careers Widening Participation Team within the Careers and Employability Service at Lancaster University is looking to appoint a Careers and Employment Adviser (Widening Participation) to join the Student Engagement Team, on a full-time basis, ending on 31st July 2024, with the potential to be reviewed and extended beyond this, depending on funding.This is a wonderful opportunity to join our friendly, innovative, and supportive team, working with our colleagues across Careers & Employability. We are passionate about developing the employability skills of our students and graduates, helping them to achieve their goals and the role of Career and Employment Adviser (Widening Participation) is essential in supporting these aims.This role will play a key role with the GROW Your Future community here at Lancaster University, supporting students from Widening Participation backgrounds to achieve future success, and live happy and fulfilled lives.You will be responsible for providing Lancaster University students with excellent careers advice. Working within our employability strategy, and Access and Participation Plan, providing one-to-one careers support, you will enable students to take the next step on their career path. You will also be responsible for delivering skills workshops and developing new employability provision.This is a new role within the team and will include exciting new projects, including enhanced provision for final year students within GROW Your Future, micro internships within the university, and working with students with specific characteristics such as mature students, care experienced, military leavers and families, and refugee/asylum seekers.You will have excellent communication and teamwork skills and be motivated to embrace the challenges of developing the employability agenda in higher education.Candidates should be adaptable, positive, forward-thinking, calm under pressure, and creative. You will also have a passion to continuously improve employability provision at Lancaster University, supporting students in their next steps.There are blended working options for both on-campus and home working.Why Lancaster?
