Overview

We have been instructed on an excellent opportunity by our client who are on the lookout for an experienced Care Fee Earner to join their Chesterfield offices in Derbyshire. This opportunity would suit someone with upwards of 5 years’ experience dealing with care proceedings.

The firm

My client are a specialist Family law firm with 8 offices in total spanning across the UK who largely deal with public and legal aid matters. Over the last year, the firm has seen significant expansion and have been on a pivotal recruitment drive since their inception in 2012.

The role

  • Liaising with clients regularly to obtain instructions and advising on the relevant course of action
  • Representing your clients at court hearings and covering hearings on behalf of your colleagues when required
  • Drafting correspondence to clients, the courts, third parties, Solicitors and Counsel
  • Obtaining and reviewing evidence
  • Maintaining the progress of all cases and prioritising your work efficiently
  • Keeping clients updated on the progress of their cases
  • Utilising the firm’s case management system to record data on your files
  • Providing supervision and support to the administrators, paralegal and trainees where necessary

The ideal candidate

  • You must be an experienced fee earner with a background in care proceedings, ideally upwards of 5 years. Chartered Legal Executives are encouraged to apply
  • A strong Guardian following is essential for this role
  • You will have a full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle
  • A strong background in general family and children law
  • The Children’s Panel Accreditation will place your application at a distinct advantage
