A respected Worthing employer of choice are seeking a Capital Accountant on a permanent basis.

Description

As Capital Accountant you will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepare monthly reports on the capital programme including performance against plan and reasons for variances for review by the Financial Controller, and the Capital Project team.
  • Review the monthly capital expenditure ensuring the appropriate accounting treatment is applied and for review by the Financial Controller.
  • Support and work with the capital project managers to efficiently monitor the various schemes, including the timing of cashflows and forecast outturns, over both the financial year and the life of the scheme.
  • Assist and support the administration and monitoring of capital expenditure and all capex forms to ensure policy is followed and the appropriate governance is adhered to.
  • Ensure that monthly analysis of capital transactions is carried out and that all necessary reconciliations are made to ensure that fixed assets are accounted for accurately in the ledger
  • Attend and provide updates to the capital projects meetings.
  • Maintain the businesses Fixed Asset Register.
  • Ensure the businesses leased assets are accounted appropriately and in accordance with IFRS16.
  • Maintain the businesses Leased Asset Register and reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Design and maintain reports and spreadsheets as required by the Financial Controller or the Capital Projects team.
  • Undertake the businesses asset verification exercise, including maintenance of the businesses disposal register.
  • Apply accounting policies and other relevant guidance appropriately and consistently in the area of work.
  • Operate within agreed financial procedures and standing orders to ensure that financial control is maintained at all times.
  • Support the Deputy Director of Finance with the production of monthly reports and annual accounts.

Profile

  • AAT qualified or part qualified ACCA/CIMA
  • Computerised accounting systems
  • Strong excel
  • Knowledge of capital accounting

Job Offer

£30-35,000 DOE + benefits
