The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Campaign Manager to join the Leonardo Edinburgh Sales and Business Development Team. Leonardo is a global leader in defence electronics and delivers mission critical systems for situational awareness, electronic warfare and surveillance across land, sea and air. The Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business, based in Edinburgh, is uniquely positioned as one of the world’s top manufacturers of radars, lasers and infra-red countermeasure systems.

Due to a recent promotion this is a fantastic opportunity for a high-performing Sales and Business Development professional to join the Edinburgh Team in delivering excellence in Directed Infrared Countermeasures and surveillance radar.

The systems that you will be selling are best-in-class and exported to countries around the world, providing essential capability to military, government and civilian operations. The business relationships that the team maintains are truly global and encompass the largest prime contractors, government organisations and end-users.

As a Campaign Manager you will secure order intake and develop further product incumbency. Working closely with the Integrated Campaign Team and the Commercial function in particular, the role will involve developing sound business constructs in support of new sales opportunities in the export marketplace.

You will be able to quickly develop new relationships with international and domestic customers, setting the conditions for timely competitive proposals and creating ‘win-win’ environments leading to enduring B2B relationships. Your early, passionate and compelling customer engagement will smoothly and rapidly deliver order intake for the Edinburgh part of the business. International travel will be part of this exciting role. When not travelling, you will be part of the Leonardo ‘Custom Working’ approach that offers flexibility towards location, with the opportunity to split time between our modern facilities at Crewe Toll and working from home.

What you will do

Strategy and Investment
  • Work with Head of Campaigns, Sales Campaign Managers and Advanced Targeting Sector Commercial and Programme functions to establish and exploit strategies for export business.
  • Work with the Commercial function to develop complementary commercial frameworks which meet both the business and customer needs.
  • Develop enduring customer relationships with a goal to establishing Leonardo as their long term partner of choice.
Delivery
  • In coordination with Sales Campaign Managers, conduct early engagement with potential customers to ensure a smooth progression towards contract closure in line with the Order Intake requirements.
  • Prioritise engagements in accordance with the Market Plan and therefore best support the priorities for the Business Plan and incumbency.
  • Work with Commercial Function to build commercial offers which are aligned with the business and customer needs.
  • Explore the potential for B2B framework agreements and conduct with Commercial early development of those identified as beneficial to the Business Plan.
  • Ensure activity follows Business Winning process and best practice.
  • Monitor, investigate and update the commercial aspects of market and competitor intelligence on a regular basis to ensure that offerings can be competitively shaped.
