In a Nutshell:



We have a great opportunity for a Buyer to join our team at Vistry Partnerships West Midlands, at our Coleshill office. As our Buyer you will be responsible for negotiating and securing sub-contract services on time and to specification, for the best possible value, whilst maintaining the necessary standards and quality required to ensure company targets and objectives are met.



What we would like from you:



Key Responsibilities -

  • Placement of subcontract orders in accordance with budget, specification, and programme constraints
  • Liaise with our Group Supply Chain and other materials suppliers, promoting the best interests if Vistry
  • Assisting estimating in the preparation of tenders
  • Obtaining data for sustainability reporting
  • Carrying value engineering exercises against specified materials/procedures
  • Preparation of subcontractor database and updating any other reasonable buying related tasks as directed by line manager or referred to in the Buying Procurement Manual.

Competencies -

  • Previous experience and Knowledge of Sub- Contract procurement within Housing/Construction Sector is essential
  • Experience in working for a contractor in a buying role
  • Commercial awareness.
  • A good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations
  • Good knowledge of construction method and materials
  • Interpersonal skills, particularly in negotiating.
  • Ability to make decisions.
  • Ability to cope with pressure.
  • Strong Mathematical and IT ability. Good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages
  • Ability to assess and analyse information
  • Good Commercial awareness
  • Good teamworking skills.
  • Effective organisational skills.
