Buyer Autosmart have been manufacturing and delivering market leading cleaning products to customers for over 40 years. We’ve doubled in size in the last 10 years and are in the most significant period of growth and transformational change in our history. We’re moving to a 3 site operation, implementing an ERP system into our business and there’s never been a better opportunity to join the team. As one of our Buyers, you’ll join the Procurement and Supply team working right at the heart of chemical manufacturing. You will ensure raw materials and accessories are purchased and ready for daily production, manage day to day purchasing routines, lead supplier negotiations and use your creative flair and quick thinking to solve a range of supply chain, product and packaging issues. You’ll also have the opportunity to manage your own continuous improvement projects, using your inquisitive nature to seek out ways to maximum efficiency, compliance and the safest working environment. This dynamic and fast paced role will provide challenge and variety where your work matters and you’ll make a real difference.   • Maintain an efficient supply of direct and indirect purchases (eg. chemicals, packaging, cleaning equipment) from approved suppliers at the lowest cost of ownership.
  • Deliver savings and process efficiencies for direct and indirect spend categories.
  • Work as a vital part of “Team Product” collaborating with colleagues within manufacturing, sales, product marketing, R&D and quality.
  • Develop strong and effective working relationships with suppliers.
  • Negotiate, agree, manage and measure supplier performance against Service Level Agreements
  • Successfully lead a diverse range of procurement and supply chain projects Our Buyer will have:
  • 2+ years purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret technical details of a product range in relation to customer needs
  • Proven experience of building strong supplier relationships
  • Ability to manage suppliers commercially against SLA’s
  • A creative and innovative approach to problem solving
  • A high level of administrative experience
  • ERP system experience
  • CIPS qualification (not essential) What we can offer you:
