As a Buyer at Baker Hughes, You will manage the buying process for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Understands concepts, methods, procedures and approaches.

As aBuyer, you will be responsible for:

• Placing and follow-up on POs. Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution, manage problems and schedule changes including update of ERP and communications to stakeholders applying escalation policies as required

• Detects and signals flaws in approaches, methods, procedures and processes and suggests improvements.

• Managing cost targets and identify opportunities for reductions including pricing and inventory management.

• Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about data gathering and analysis.

• Contributing to project as a team member. Work goals typically take 1-3 month to complete, and results are seen immediately or within 1-2 months

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Have bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with proven years of experience in Procurement)

• Have strong oral and written communication skills

• Have strong interpersonal and leadership skills

• Have ability to work independently

• Have strong problem solving skills

• Member or working towards membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply/APICS
