Our client is a well-established, family run, gift manufacturer and distributor of a niche and well-known household and gifting products, who are now one of the largest providers of their dedicated products in the world. Due to continued growth over the last four years, the team numbers have increased substantially, and will continue to do so, therefore you will be joining a company who will offer greater responsibility and stability.

They are company who prides themselves on ethical trading and carbon footprint and really are a hidden gem in Surrey. They are currently in a position to recruit a new Buyerto join their successful purchasing team close to Horley. Open to experience, this client is willing to consider candidates at Junior Buyer level through to Senior level, with salary reflecting the level of experience.

Salary:Up to £25,000 - £35,000DOE plus excellent benefits including 28 days holiday (increasing with length of service), amazing social events (when allowed to again), pension, dress down and free parking!

Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm

What will your working week be like?

• Sourcing components – mainly from Far East
• Negotiating prices
• Purchasing components
• Shipping/Logistics – working with our agents and factories
• Supplier Management – Far East suppliers; both components and finished products
• Raising Purchase orders through Sage 50 Accounts
• Understanding critical paths to ensure components and goods will arrive on time
• Checking packaging artwork to ensure agreement with ingredient lists and safety data sheets
• Managing samples
• Ensuring testing of products and all related documents are managed.

Who will suit this role?

• Buying experience is essential to be considered for this position
• Knowledge and hands-on experience of sourcing components as opposed to a finished product
• Highly administrative, professional and organised
• Excellent at multi-tasking, effective time management skills and an ability to manage/prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage critical path/managing timelines
• Worked with Far East suppliers, with a good understanding of shipping worldwide
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Works well under pressure
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills to all levels of the business
• Sage experience is beneficial, but not essential
• Strong interest in home products and trends
