What you will do as a Business Unit Director of Resilience & Maritime NL & UK

As the Director Business Unit (DBU) Resilience & Maritime NL & UK you are the head of 5 advisory groups within the global Business Line Water & Maritime. We are ideally seeking a candidate with both climate resilience and Maritime experience with an emphasis on Maritime markets. You are familiar with digital ways of working and have experience with Smart and Green Ports. Experience with climate resilience market related innovations would be a plus.

You enjoy driving the commercial success of the organization, stimulate and encourage co-creating with clients and partners to develop innovative digital solutions and new service portfolio. In your role, you are also identifying and creating market opportunities.
  • You have proven experience in making the strategy clear and actionable to stakeholders and employees to prepare and position the business unit (BU) better for the future;
  • You are experienced in driving change to shape a positive, inclusive culture that fosters learning and innovation;
  • You have a strategic mindset and like cultivating innovation;
  • Proven experience in building an effective, high performing team; aligning people behind shared goals, while focusing on employees’ well-being and retention;
  • Business development skills and network management skills of the business unit and other stakeholders outside the business unit;
  • Good performance and predictable results make sure that the organisation has the time and resources to focus on growth, continuous change and development;
  • You have proven experience of collaborating with related teams and units within and outside RHDHV and create results together.

RHDHV has Resilience and Maritime projects, big and small, in the Netherlands and all over the world.

You will be the Director of the business unit of Resilience & Maritime NL & UK. In this business unit that you will be leading over 500 professionals based in the Netherlands and UK who are working on global projects and clients; commercial and government agencies.

What You Bring

You have experience in translating the corporate and business line (BL) strategy into a strategic direction for the business unit aligning to market trends and business developments. You are an inspiring and ambitious person that can lead the team through change processes.

To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experiences:
  • Accessible leader with exceptional communication and team building capabilities;
  • Stimulate autonomy, promote engagement and involvement, both among people and with the company;
  • Commercial acumen, with a strong affinity to build and strengthen client relationships;
  • Leads by example;
  • Strategic, innovative, creative, and knows how to use own network and partners;
  • Keen interest and commitment to digitalization our primary processes and business propositions;
  • Excellent in speaking and writing Dutch and English (at least B2 level or native speaker level);
  • Can travel within or outside the Netherlands if necessary;
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in a related (water)study;
  • 10 or more years experience in the resilience & maritime market in the Netherlands, UK or other European Countries;
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role;
  • Full-time position (40 hours per week).
