We pride ourselves on our blend of digital application and deep domain knowledge. Our fully integrated, multidisciplinary approach means we can deliver all the expertise a project requires, from master planning to create new port or airport facilities to detailed design and to optimising existing facilities and operations.

Role Context

Climate change is an increasingly key challenge for port and terminal operators from the perspective of business continuity, operational resilience and connectivity. Investors and customers are also seeking reassurance that steps are being taken to secure assets and products throughout the supply chain now and into the future. To support our growing project portfolio in this crucial area we are looking to recruit a climate resilience specialist to help our clients address these global challenges.

This role will be based in the UK and support our Green Ports team to provide expert consultancy advice to global clients. You will collaborate with environmental professionals across different business lines.

Job Role

This highly varied role will include a range of activities including:
  • Preparing commercial, technical and financial proposals to deliver projects linked to climate change resilience in the maritime sector e.g. ports, harbours, terminal operators etc
  • Manage and support the delivery of projects linked to climate change resilience e.g. vulnerability assessments, development of adaptation/mitigation strategies, technical due diligence with respect to climate resilience etc
  • Monitor the evolution of key climate change related policy and legislation as they are relevant for our maritime clients
  • Develop and contribute to thought leadership and other profile-raising activities to help strengthen our credibility and contribute to the growth of our services in the field of climate change resilience
  • Contribute to the production of internally and externally facing business development materials to help communicate our service offer
  • Participate in industry events (e.g. webinars, panel discussions, conferences etc) to support profile raising and networking activities with potential clients and delivery partners
This role might be right for you if you have:
  • Passion and experience for delivering climate change resilience projects (ideally in the maritime sector) and strong understanding of key policy and legislation relevant to this field
  • Experience with analysing and applying climate data to assess/understand climate change risks and how this drives a need for adaptation/mitigation to deliver improved resilience, for example, through vulnerability assessments for infrastructure and operations.
  • Understanding/experience of climate related finance matters
  • Understanding of the maritime sector across the globe, particularly ports
  • Must have a degree in a relevant technical discipline to MSc level (e.g. geography, environmental science, climate science, environmental economics or engineering).
  • Be available to travel across the UK and periodically overseas, subject to prevailing CV-19 guidance.
