Petrofac is looking to recruit a Business Intelligence Developer to join our IT team based in Aberdeen, U.K.

Main purpose of the role
This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career deploying your current skills and knowledge while learning from a team of Business Intelligence experts. The position will provide a breadth of activities including working with big data models to develop and maintain Power BI reports, ensuring consistency in design and visualisations and recommending best practice to enhance the user experience and maintain data governance.
Key Accountabilities
- Understanding the IT and data landscape, reviewing reporting needs from the business, communicating recommendations and solutions.
- Utilising TSQL, AAS and Power BI skills to interpretate the data model to compile best practice data schema (star) and writing complex dax measures that achieve the business brief while not compromising data performance
- Developing Power BI reports with professional aesthetic and recommending custom visuals and advanced features where appropriate
- Prioritising work to support a range of Power BI and data queries
- Collaborating closely with Data Engineers, discussing solutions and troubleshooting data
- Ensuring high quality documentation is created and maintained to reference the data logic and transformation undertaken
- Proactively share new ideas and innovative solutions to enhance the Business Intelligence process and service offering
- Complying with governance and change management process
- Reporting Tools, Power BI / Tableau (moderate/advance level)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Analysis Services (advantageous)
- Power Automate and Power Apps
- TSQL (advantageous)
- Knowledge of the Microsoft BI product stack (SSIS, SSMS, and SSRS)
- Azure knowledge (desirable)
