Offshore Wind Business Development Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and ambitious offshore wind business development manager to drive and professionalise our business development programme across our offshore wind environmental and engineering teams.

About Our Offshore Wind Team

Royal HaskoningDHV has provided services into the offshore wind sector for several years and has an excellent project delivery track record across the UK, Europe and Asia. To date, these projects have predominantly been focused around the permitting, consenting and environmental aspects of offshore wind-farms.

This role is part of a Royal HaskoningDHV business level commitment to establish UK centre of excellence for renewables engineering, growing a team of dedicated offshore wind technical personnel to service global projects

Role Context

This role will form part of Offshore Wind Centre of Excellence team based in the UK, with a focus on the global renewables sector in particular the offshore wind sector. This existing team currently delivers consultancy, EIA, consenting, engineering, H&S and wider development support services to the offshore wind industry, primarily in the UK and Europe but increasingly in the globalising offshore wind markets in APAC, Baltic and US.

Job Role
  • Directly acquire a pipeline of proposals and new client sales in the UK, Europe and APAC.
  • Assist account teams in strengthening existing relationships with designated accounts within the UK team - developing broader account connections, intel gathering and gaining RHDHV exposure at operational and executive decision making levels.
  • Raise awareness of the Royal HaskoningDHV brand in the global offshore wind and renewables market place.
  • Organise business development (explore new markets and new clients) as well as account management (know the present market share & key clients).
  • Co-ordinate, report and communicate assignments undertaken within the market across and within RHDHV organisation.
  • Stimulate, coach & co-ordinate directors, managers and team members business development activities and lead the development of BD skills within the wider team.
  • Share information with wider team on changes and developments in the market and at clients.
  • Lead marketing and communications to develop the company profile within the market (exhibitions, publications etc) and personally via committee membership, papers etc.
  • Actively work/interact with other dedicated Business Developers within RHDHV UK in terms of potential leads and delivery of business management and market consolidation, sharing information to stimulate awareness of opportunities
  • Maintain long term relationships & network on an executive level
  • Lead bids and proposals and ensure consistency across all proposals
This Role Might Be Right For You If
  • You’re a Member of a Chartered institute / MBA or equivalent accreditation to support the complex nature of business development and technical input required for the position.
  • You have significant experience at a senior level within one or more sectors/markets that is relevant to offshore wind and the wider renewable energy sector.
  • You have broad experience of business development
  • You have experience of working and influencing within a large organisation structure
  • You have an extensive network of sector contacts
  • You have the ability to prove experience in profitable growth of market share and finding & binding new clients
  • You have background knowledge in the offshore wind or wider renewable energy sector.
