Business Development Manager – Micro CHP

Fleetsolve, a SIMEC Brand, is an award-winning business specialising in the design, manufacture and operation of liquid and gas-powered combined heat and power (CHP) units and power generation systems. Our range of applications begin at 5kWe through to 2.5mWe and everything in between. Our renewable power systems are utilised by a wide range of commercial application throughout the UK where a zero-carbon energy solution, reliability and grid resilience are critical.

We have an extremely exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven business development specialist to sell MICRO generation as an energy service, to maximise heat and power production against building utilisation. With the ability to understand the purpose and requirement of heat mapping thermal stores and battery integration for the target audience of users below 50kW

Fleetsolves’ Micro CHP operates predominately on natural gas, biogas, propane, LPG and Syngas for deployment in mixed use developments, leisure and hospitality sectors as well as manufacturing and infrastructure resilience. Candidates with experience in micro generation are preferred however those with experience in intelligent boiler systems and heat pumps will be considered.

The Role of Business Development Manager - Micro CHP

  • Responsible for identifying and converting CHP opportunities demonstrable and measured via CRM with support from internal technical teams from across the business to ensure sustainable sales targets are met.
  • Promote and be fluent with current and future legislations and targets that will influence this market
  • Familiar with selling as a package and a full solution to be delivered by the Fleetsolve team rather than a single piece of equipment
  • Experience with building integration and optimisation-for example load splitting or Duos and Tuos peak lopping applications
  • Conduct market research and identify new market and sector opportunities.
  • Develop and implement an effective sales strategy with support from the Marketing team, driving sustainable financial growth, whilst forging positive long-term relationships with new and existing customers for repeat business from construction, energy management and investment corporations
  • Quickly identify new business opportunities with the objective of generating extensive CHP pipelines with a high sales conversion rate.
  • Managing complex offers across various sectors within industrial, commercial, healthcare local and central Government and other private sectors that have a need for our solutions with quote engineer assistance
  • The ability to quickly identify and understand our customers’ needs both financially and environmentally, as well as articulating and creating the conditions to secure CHP product sales
  • With support from internal sales and finance team, undertake the financial and environmental business case studies to understand CHP costs and value contribution/benefits for all stakeholders.

· Measure and report on sales KPI’s to key internal stakeholders

  • Provide realistic project appraisals and aftersales support when required both internally and with our customers.
  • The position will require UK and from time-to-time international travel, sometimes at short notice, as and when required in line with needs of the business
  • Daily utilisation and maintenance of the CRM sales tool as part of sale enquiry lead management.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A demonstrable success in a sales engineering background with proven business to business selling with no less than 5 years’ experience.
  • An understanding of construction related projects including the mechanical and electrical (415v/11kv) integration of power generation equipment including DNO requirements is desirable
  • Commercially aware with an understanding of the contractual negotiations with experience in delivering JCT, MF/1 alongside a commercial team
  • A thorough understanding and experience within the power generation and CHP markets with a clear understanding of the renewable, environmental and energy markets.
  • A consistently high-quality level of work is required to ensure new business opportunities are maximised quickly.
  • The skillset to generate leads, pro-actively search for new opportunities and nurture potential growth.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills, including appointment scheduling supported by executive team
  • Good knowledge of MS office and general computer skills.
